What is Wine of the Week?
Welcome to our blog! So how did all of this start? In 2022, Ryan was gifted the book Wine Folly: Magnum Edition: The Master Guide, from one of his older brothers. He enjoyed trying different types of alcohol, specifically whiskey, but wine was something he had very little experience with. Ryan had been interested in venturing into the world of wine, but had never acted on that interest. This was the perfect opportunity/excuse for him to start exploring more wines and start his wine journey. He brought up the idea of doing a wine of the week with Molly, who turned out to also be interested in trying new wines! Prior to starting our wine of the week, Molly mostly drank sweet white wines with a few reds had during wine tastings. Hence, she was eager to try different varieties and expand the types of wine she enjoyed. After a few weeks of talking, we went through the book and picked out a few wines that seemed interesting and that we would probably be able to find in our area. Every couple of weeks we do this same process and go through the book and pick out fun, new wines. About a month and a half into our WOTW, one of our friends suggested that we start a wine blog as a fun side project since we had already been keeping a spreadsheet of everything we've tried and our ratings. We thought about it and it seemed like a fun thing to do, and so our WOTW blog was born! Thank you to everyone who's been with us on our journey; we appreciate all of your support!
